Set top box

Hello ev 1 - I have a set top box in my kitchen which works perfectly with my tiny TV. I have just bought another one to put in my dining room and cannot get anything on it. Is there a booster or something that I could buy to make it work. I have recently had a new aerial fitted so don't think it is that. Thank you for reading this Janet

When you say "set top box" do you mean a freeview box?
You say you have had an aerial fitted. Did it have a splitter to ensure the signal goes down all the aerial leads (I assume both TVs have leads from the same aerial).
Why not switch set top boxes with each other and see if the "good" one works on the other TV, and the "bad" one works on your kitchen TV.
That way you can find out if the BOX is faulty, or maybe the aerial is not working properly.

have you scanned for channels in the box menu?
if you have a good external aerial, and ideally one straight run of good quality twin screened RG6 cable from it to the receiver, then there should be no problem A good installer will check the installation with field strength meters. call him back if in doubt.
. Many amps just amplify noise and do more harm than good, so do not waste your time with such 'patches'. Get the aerial or the box right and everything else will follow.....
