I remember Sam as an actress who was not Daniella Westbrook......so I'm confused or going mad. Minty had the hots for her in the story line & she went on to Strictly Come Dancing..in real life. Who was she?

Yes Daniella played her first but was written out because of her drugs habit. It seems the BBC have forgiven her now.

Sam Mitchell came into EastEnders as a 15 year old school girl in July 1990. She was initially played by Danniella Westbrook until 2000. In 2002 the character was reintroduced and was played by Kim Medcalf until 2005. Now Danniella is back again playing this role.

Kim Metcalfe was also on Celebrity Fame Acadamy a few years back - not Strictly come dancing - she was quite a good singer as well and made a much better Sam than Daniella Westbrook (who just irritates me just by looking at her)
