In a three-month span, the following happens:

Already "dead", butt-ugly Den Watts is murdered "again" by his 20-year old lover, then his wife. "Hard man" Andy Hunter is murdered on the same night by being pushed over a flyover by someone smaller than him, for heaven's sake, leaves his house, of all things, to Pat Evans, who he came close to sacking for conspiring to cheat him with the other murder victim. The Ferreiras leave the Square, after narking the soft-as-***** Johnny Allen, who optimisically names his new business venture "Scarlett"after his dead daughter. In the space of 10 days, the Miller's go from chip butties for dinner, to "fings are pickin' up for us nah, Keif". Yet more deaths, as Sonia's kid's middle-class Marks & Spencer catalogue parents "Sue and Neil" die in a car crash. Sam Mitchell, tough businesswoman, from the supposedly rock-solid Mitchell crime family, can't keep her composure about the death of Dirty Den, of all people. Nana Moon, meanwhile is still live and kicking, whilst nice bloke Alfie still hasn't bedded nice but dim Little Mo. Don't even get me started on the return of Phil, who wanted for armed robbery, goes back to East London, with half the Met after him.

What about, Den buys the pub on Xmas Eve and moves in on Xmas Day.  Have'nt they got solicitors in London?  I also remember a couple of years ago everyone in the pub on Xmas morning, then all back to the Beals for dinner. Who cooked it?
The story line you describe andy008 has resulted in the sacking of many EE executives for the reasosns you have given. It is changing for the better now. But if Sharon comes back with dennis her lover it will go back to the cringe factor. You mention dim Mo. Her acting is ridiculous. No one talks like her in real life. Even when she is not talking she is desparate to make ridiculous faces for the sake of the camera.
Here here Andy! I've almost given up watching it - except out of interest now and then. What about how ridiculous that such a poor family, the Millers, can afford to live in a huge, most likely 250k house in London!??! The Fereras departure was possibly the most cringe-worthy moment this year. They left the square some 10 mins after deciding to do so!! It's so ridiculous!
yeah it's good innit!
A good way to rid the Millers would be for Keith to appear on Who Wants To Be A Millionaire, win the jackpot and move out. The story lines are pathetic! The writers are not in touch with reality, and nor are the actors  as they don't seem to point out any flaws in their story lines.
Don't watch it then
Notice how a lot of the cast have been in so called comedy Winsor ,Lavendar Richie and the star who I think is is Spain  "Giving it  that "What,s his name Reid(Reed) the whole thing is a joke pull the plug the Beeb needs the money.
For all it's pannings at the start, if you can get BBC Scotland, watch River City. Much more realistic and way better acting.

As I have said before, the time has come to get rid of the following: The Fowlers, The Beales, The Millers, The Slaters and Gus and Julie. They should be replaced by Kermit the Frog, Miss Piggy, Gonzo, Animal, Fozzie Bear and the two old guys who sit in the balcony.

This would pick Eastenders up off the scrap pile and make the programme much more entertaining.

Now hang on, Is anyone forcing you all to watch EE? Press the magic button!!!!!!!

No-one forces us to watch it, but they do force us to pay for it.

I don't have too much of a problem with the characters, but they could do with trying to make us care about them more. Maybe its coverage of the making of it on BBC3 or the constant reports in the papers about new storylines and stuff, but it just feels like reality tv tvmaking. If a plot or a set of characters aren't working they just change it or get rid of them, seemingly on the demand of the ratings. They could do with some decent stories and establish some familiarity between audience and characters.
