Didn't take note of password when setting up wireless network. Friend coming at Xmas will want to use laptop but won't be able to hook up to internet without it. Any way I can get around this without uninstalling and resetting? Many thanks.

Login to the router admin console, go to wireless security and check it there.
To login, you'll need to type in the address of the router (probably 192.168.1.1)
You will of course need the login name and password for the admin console. Unless you've change it from the default, you'll find that in the router manual (and possibly on a sticker on the router or the box it came in).
Did you change the pass that was on the card? .. It's underneath router too, usually. Not so sure you will reset by uninstalling/re-installing either.
No way around it that I ever heard of .. especially if WPA or WPA2 (which it probably is) otherwise we'd all be hacking into our neighbours wireless networls for free : )

Of course there's a way round it, as I described.

"otherwise we'd all be hacking into our neighbours wireless networls for free"
No we wouldn't because to change it requires physical access to the router.
