Why do you ask?
No, I dont think that he has any affiliation to the Isle of Man parliament.

He didn't shell out for an engagement ring.
Well if its because he gave Kate his late Mums engagement ring -no.
I think that was a very touching gesture -my daughter has my engagement ring to her Dad and both our wedding rings to each other. She wears them always.
If not I dont know what you mean chrissa :)
Are you asking this because he is using his mothers engagement ring?
We all have to economise these days.
Aw thats a bit brutal chrissa -even the Royals have hearts :(

I was really making da joke!!! It was just the first thing that entered my head.
Not funny when its a dead parent involved -sorrry:(

When I heard it on the News. Just my sense of humour.
I also thought it was a nice gesture.
I think it's lovely on his part, I hope Kate thinks so too (given its rather sad history) - he's just said on TV that he wanted his mother to be part of today's celebrations.

I must admit I had a bit of déja vu - Kate was wearing a complementary royal blue outfit for the official announcement, the same colour that Diana wore when her engagement to Charles was announced.
Excellent recycling.

Am I alone being bored with this wedding story already?
I thought it was a nice thing to do too. Let's face it, the one person he is really going to miss over the next few months will be his mother. Nice to see he has a lot of her good points in him.
Don't hold your breath, Hopkirk, there will be at least another nine months of this.
Aaaaaahh!!!
Do you think we'll get a day off work this time?
Daresay they probably dont want all this fuss either he has a duty -not of his nor her choosing.
Maybe that could be bourne in mind-to all the cynics.
The ring being hand down????

That's what I don't like. I would want my own ring.
It wasn't very successful last time it was used.
