email password suddenly being refused

As of today my email server keeps asking for confirmation of my server name and password and is not receiving email. I keep inputting the reuqested info, (from my WRITTEN record) but it still won't accept it.

What should I do apart from stamping on my Dell computer with windows vista?

Thanks MarkRae, been on to bt and after help from call centre in India my email service is restored. Why didn't think of that?

After his help I was looking forward to receiving loads of incoming emails, but the only ones were my checking test emails to myself!

I had the same problem prior to going away for a few days and came back expecting the problem still be there. However all was fine so wondered if unplugging and starting again was the answer...
