I had no problems with my router or wireless Internet connection until I took my laptop away with me for the weekend and used the hotel's wifi. I got home and now my laptop connects to my router when its booted up but after about 2 minutes I get the 'page cannot be displayed' in Explorer even though the diagnostics / troubleshooter can find no problems with the connection and it insists I'm still connected to the router and the Internet!!! It suggests I switch the router off and back on again and when I do I get another 2 minutes of full Internet connection before it does the same thing again and gives me the 'page cannot be displayed' message instead of loading. All other laptops in the house are still connecting wirelessly with no problems, it's just the one I used at the hotel. I've done a full system scan with both my anti virus program and with an anti malware/spyware program and they found nothing. Any suggestions? All help gratefully received - I'm at a complete loss!!! Many thanks.

Two suggestions to try, delete the wireless profile and reconnect and re-enter your wireless network key and log onto the admin pages for your wireless router and change the wireless channel to another one.

Without details of which version of windows and what make and model of router it's not possible to give much more info on how to do either the above.

Hi Chuck

Thanks very much for the suggestions. I've just spoken to Hubby and he apparently tried what you suggested this afternoon when I enlisted his help - no joy :o( This is SO frustrating!
Try making a fresh connection to your router.
Find your wireless network connection in Network Connections. Right click on it and select properties. In the Wireless Network tab select your network in the Preferred Networks list and then click remove.
Now re-connect your computer to your network as if it was the first time.
Skids has posted a guide to removing your wireless profile, but as you have said your husband has already done that I'd try removing all profiles listed.

Also open internet explorer click on the tools menu > internet options then click on the connections tab. At the bottom of the page click on the LAN settings button and remove any ticks from everything on that page.

Thanks for that Skids.

Chuck - just gone into my Internet settings to do what you suggested and none of the boxes were ticked. I can feel a Bacardi & Coke coming on - doubt it'll help to keep my Internet connected any longer but in half an hour it probably won't matter to me as much...! lol.
