F11 usually toggles internet browsers between full screen and normal
sorry, that 's not quite your question. oops.
thanks bibble, i didn't know that about the f11 key, cheers lowry
Mine opens to half screen on outlook, if you click the box next to the Close X in the top right corner, it opens to full.
Place your cursor on any of the four corners. the cursor will change into a small double ended arrow, . Hold down the lefy mouse button and drag the the screen open. The system should 'remember' the next time you open Google

Thanks guys but I was hoping that thier would be a way of tweeking the settings so that it automatically opened full size when I clicked on gooogle.
inafix read the last sentence of Vicasso's post.
Just to be pedantic - do you mean maximum sized window or fullscreen browser (with toolbars hidden)?

I think other respondents here think you mean the former; if you mean the latter then I haven't come across anything that will do it on a site-by-site basis.
As with any program -

Right click on the start menu, quick launch, or desktop icon which you use to open IE7. Click 'Properties', then 'Shortcut' tab. In 'Run:' box select 'Maximized'.

BTW, what have you got against IE8?
