I have just downloaded and ran the new Ad-aware SE, this new version seems to come up with alot more than it used to. In fact it got rid of alot of stuff i've been trying to get rid of for a long time. Anyway my question is has anyone who uses this new version ever had a problem with it deleting something important? I know you can choose what to or not to delete but i usually delete everything and if something doesnt work after deleting I just take it back out of quarrentine. this new version scans alot deeper than it used to because i am now seeing things from H key local machine and recently accessed files in programs such as windows media player. iIt also deleted my recent documents folder.

I have an A to Z mapping programme that requres some sort of anti-pirate licensing programme called C-Dilla. Ad-Aware spots this as spyware, but deleting it means my A to Z stopps working. So, I put it back from the disc and then told Ad-Aware to ignore it in future. I expect that you can do the same with other things.

I think the occasional good clear-out can make the poota work so much better. And you can certainly do better without all that scummy spyware stuff.

I've been using Adaware SE since it was released and have had no problems so far with anything it's deleted. As you say, if it stops anything running properly just take it back out of quarantine. Some people like to keep their Recently Used Lists, so that feature can be switched off.

I would recommend downloading SpyBot Search and Destroy as well. It identifies some problems that Adaware SE misses. I run both and have had no conflicts at all.
