how do you burn to disc a dvd that is my windows media player to a format that can be played on any dvd player

Windows media player is only a video player, it can't burn video to DVD.
As far as I know, DVD format is VOB. If you want to know how to convert and burn video to DVD to play on DVD player, I think this step by step guide would help you
