Hi,
I seem to have lost my clip art animations. Anyway to retrieve them ( in nice simple language for a novice )?

Thanks

It's possible that your PC might have simply lost its record of where the GIFs are stored, rather than actually losing the files.

Try a search for *.gif
That will find all GIF files on your PC. Then, if required, you can copy them to any convenient location.

If you can't find your own animated GIFs, or even if you can, you can find loads more on one of my favourite websites:

A great program for finding files on your hard disk is Everything http://www.voidtools.com/
Once it's initialised then it finds files immediately, with no delay.
why would you install a 3rd party indexing software when most people in the trade switch of the default windows indexing to speed the computer up and save resources (unless it is needed, which for the occasional search it's not)

Chuck - have you even tried it? It's fantastic to use, instantly finds the files you want without any searching of the hard disk (and yes I have indexing switched off too).
I doubt it would install on Linux :)

on a windows point of view how well does it work in a network environment? I'm always looking for ways to speed up certain end users searches!
It's Windows only, and I'm on a standalone machine so don't know what it's like to use on a network.
