I am not technologically minded but wondered if anyone out there could answer in layman's terms. For some weeks I have been receiving spam from a chat forum, sometimes as many as 25 per day and more. The link to let them know I don't want any more leads me to a site which asks for my password and other details. I have never registered with this site so have no password. When I clicked to say I had forgotten my password I received an email saying a password had not been allocated to me! Neither will they let me into their site. I f it helps, the spam comes from the following address: acww-kwuet.com.leforum.eu It is a French email and I live in France. I have emailed the address 3 times but needless to say, nothing has happened. I found a site where I could make a complaint but they asked for the URL - how do I find this out? I don't even know what it is! That is assuming I can find the site again. Please help if you can, I am fed up with it and I do not want all these messages cluttering up my hard drive. I would be very pleased if someone could tell me what to do next, in the simplest terms!!Thank you so much. Silver surfer

Put

Thank you ethel - so sorry don't know how to do that but will wait until I see someone who does, unless you can tell me. I am practically housebound so someone will call in over the next couple of days, Thanks again.
What are you using for your emails?

Who provides your email and how do you access them?

Sorry, the keyboard froze so had to log off. I have found the spam filter but they will not accept the instruction without@xxxx (domain name?). There is nothing like that on the address or message. Looks like I am stuck with this. Thanks for your help though. I am grateful for your time and energy!
You're not stuck with it, put this in the spam filter

[email protected]
"I have emailed the address 3 times but needless to say, nothing has happened."

That's your problem right there. You should NEVER contact these spam addresses as it only confirms that they have sent it to a valid address and so you will receive more and more spam in your inbox.

Once on these lists, it's impossible to be removed without changing your email address.

Ethel, thank you so much. could not get back to this page and have only just worked out how to get to it through google*. I have had this going on for months but now your suggestion seems to have worked. *I posted an answer to you about this on the q's page but this ensures that you get it.

Thanks Squarebear. You are right of course, but this is a long standing problem and, for some reason, decided to do something about it today. I will bear (no pun intended) your advice in mind.
