I have Windows xp. I find that even though I set the text size to "largest" some incoming mail or indeed some internet pages cannot be enlarged. I often print out articles for a partially sighted person and it can cause problems.
Is there any other way of enlarging text prior to printing?

Hi, the size of the text when printing from Outlook Express is governed by the size of the text selected in Windows Explorer.
The text selection in Outlook Express only controls the size of the text on the screen.
Go into Windows Explorer and set the text to very large and the next time you print an E-mail it should also be larger.
before print the mails you can increase the size of the mails .
you can increase the size as go to the view menu select the text size and select the size according to you .

you can also increase the size as by hold down the ctrl key and scroll the mouse button.

Thank you Wak and Johnpol. Could you help me a little further please.
Where do I access Windows explorer and will that help with my Emails in Yahoo mail?
I tried holding down "control" and scrolling and it did enlarge the print on screen. However when I printed it the print was not enlarged!!
I am trying to print out the history of Oxford Castle @ oxfordcastle.com . My neice's emails also always has small print .
Any further help on printing emails and webpages in a reasonable sized text sure would be appreciated.
Hi jayemcee, I'm very sorry but I misled you in my first reply.
I should have said INTERNET explorer and not WINDOWS Explorer.
Go into Internet Explorer, VIEW, TEXT SIZE and alter the size of the text in there before printing out the E-mail from Outlook Express.
I don't think Yahoo mail will make any difference.
(Internet Explorer is the screen you are looking at now, just go to VIEW in the above menus)
Hope this helps.

Thank you for responding Wak. With the microsoft internet explorer page in front of me the only "view" tag I can find is by clicking on "page! in the 3rd line of the heading. I do use that to enlarge text to the largest there is, but still when I print it comes out small. Smaller than on the screen.
Do I have a printer problem? Epson stylus DX4450?
If you have Internet Explorer open then you should possibly have a blue (or coloured) bar across the top of the page roughly describing what you are watching and below that there should be a Menu bar showing "File, Edit, View, Favourites, Tools and Help".
Click on the VIEW in the menu bar to alter the TEXT size.
If you do not have the menu bar showing then RIGHT click on the first row after the blue bar and the Tool bar panel should appear showing "Standard buttons, Address bar, Links".
Click on the Standard Button line so that a tick appears along side of it and the Menu bar should also appear just beneath the top blue bar.
See how you go.

Thank you Wak, I have now got the menu bar across the top of my screen.
Guess what?
The Oxford Castle story will still not enlarge!! Other stuff is big on the screen and on the printed page but not this. I have found this happens with a few other things.
Showing my lack of knowledge, could it be anything to do with the way the originator puts it on? Do they compress it or something?
Try Edit/select all - Ctrl C to copy. Open Word page and Ctrl V to paste. Highlight all on Word and choose font size. Print.

Thank you terambulan for your lateral thoughts. I copied and pasted it to word and managed to enlarge it. Not by a lot but large enough for my other half to read.
Odd how some articles are immune to enlargement.
log in into the yahoo mail with the log in user name and the password.

you will see the options tab on the above corner of the mail .

click on the "options"> mail options.

you will see the general tab.

in the general tab you will see the text format and the size.

increase the size according to you
and click on save changes.

the size of the text will increase and you will print the matter/ mail in the big size.

johnpol I really appreciate your time. When I click on "options" at the top right of Yahoo mail I get a page offering from "Spam protection" to "Announce Email address". One heading is "general preferences" but clicking on that gives me a choice of "Folders/search", "Composing" and "Message action"
I clicked on all headings available at both levels and nowhere could I find a "general" tab or any reference to text size.
I only use Yahoo mail on my home page, does that make a difference.
Or maybe I have other than a current version?
no, you can also set the home page as yahoo mail .

follow the instructions. open the yahoo mail page in the internet explorer.
go to the tools menu >internet options>general tab.
in the general tab you will see the address tab. click on use current tab.
your home page will be set as your yahoo mail .

or you can type the address of the home page in the blank space.

click OK and apply.
close the internet explorer.
start the internet explorer again you will get your home page as yahoo mail.
