what is the difference between the "Apple iPod Touch 16GB With Software Update2" and the "NEW - iPod Touch"? the first one is on offer at Argos for �148 whilst the other is still �219?

There was the first generation iPod touch, and the 2nd generation iPod touch, which was released a month or two ago.

The new one adds support for microphones, makes the case a little nicer, has speakers, that kind of thing. More like iPhone without the phone. The first generation model doesn't have any of these.

Battery life is also vastly improved, 1st Generation was rated at 22hours (for audio) and the 2nd Generation is 36 hours.

Whichever version you get, you will be very happy. The iPod Touch is brilliant!
