I had seen quite a bit of press lately about a new search engine created by ex-google staff.

www.cuil.com

http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/technology/7528503. stm

I tested it this afternoon and found it to be useless. I searched for ten things and only successfully made a link to one.

Anyone else tried it? Anyone else think it is rubbish?

I tested it - it claimed to have found 120 pages that matched my search, but in fact found only 20 (including duplicates). Google returned 18,600 results for the same search.
If theses guys used to work for Google, maybe they were janitors?
I tried a search for a film title i watched over the weekend and it froze.

I also searched for the name of my workplace (something google finds several hundred pages linking to) it found nothing.

They have a way to go yet before i am convinced
I tried it this morning - two searches

First one came back with lots of American sites (wanted to purchase item in uk)

Second one came back with dutch sites.

Had a quick look at settings and couldn't find a way of searching UK only or of 'English language' only, so useless in my opinion (I did send them an email saying exactly that).

Shame as I did like the three column look
Just tried a few more searches (for my company). Cuil repeats the same website (albeit different pages) a lot. In the first 4 pages there were over 20 repeated sites.

Useless
