I have just had windows vista installed and it wont let me download BBC I player or Sky player, i have an error mesage saying directory does not exist. Any idea how to do this.

Sounds like UAC is preventing you from downloading.
To disable UAC go to contol panel> user accounts and at the bottom of the list you will see the option to turnUAC off.
You can always enable it again after your download if you prefer.
