When I went BB about 3yrs back I had a moden and it all worked ok, then 18 months back bought a wireless laptop. For a few weeks in march/april had trouble logging on to isp and my ISP waitrose would get me connected but next day would be the same. In desperation I remembered what the help people told me to do so sorted it out myself. I
disconnected the moden power and the line to BT socket
No lights nothing. On the router I have 2 cables connected one to pow er and the phone line direct to BT socket.
My wireless works fine just a bit slow on getting the icons near the clock and no trouble loggiing on.
Seeing various questions on AB has got me thinking, is my setup correct??? Many thanks in advance not in any hurry for answer as it works.

If it's working then yeah.

Slowness on wireless could be down to a few things really; the wirless adaptor you're using on the laptop, how far you are from the wireless router, and even the secruity you are using for wireless (WEP slows mine down considerabely, compared to using WPA).

Also it depends on what you're letting manage the wireless connection, Windows or the wirless adaptor software. One could manage better than the other, it's just trial and error to find out.
