I remember watching several films which featured a comedy duo, I seem to remember were dubbed into English.

The duo were as I remember: One had very blonde hair and striking blue eyes, while the other was stout with dark hair and a beard.

They would have been around late 70's early 80's

Anybody got any idea?

I think your thinking of Terrance Hill and Bud Spencer they fit the descriptions but they are Italian.

Terence Hill is actually Mario Girotti. Bud Spencer is Carlo Pedersoli.
