getting rid of corrupt file

While doing a virus scan my computor picked up a corrupt file. it reads Algas.exe corrupt file
file or directory
c;/system volume
information\restore (3BEEC17C-0923-47C4-8980
and so on
could someone please tell me how I can repair it please it also says Please run the CHKDSK Utility

Thankyou for your reply. I did as you said and clicked start,computor.props. got on system restore clicked box and turned of fand on again. but nothing has changed.is there aything else I can do? I have also tried to Defragment files but it will not do it.
