I Have been trying to download email chess from a website called magi-au.com. I can only get so far and then I am told I need Winrar. My brother says he has not got this but has managed to download the chess board. I really have no idea about this and would appreciate any help.Thanks

Winrar is a program for packing and unpacking files.
You can download it for free here

If someone wants to send a lot of files over the interent it is often best to pack them up with WinRar first.
The file then has a file type of RAR, such as CHESS.RAR
You can then unpack the file with WinRar.
Install WinRar then right click on the chess file (or whatever it is called) and select "Extract Here" and the RAR file will unpack to the individual files.

that I'd forgotten that it's still uncrippled shareware (as is winzip).

During this period, all of the functions of the RAR Software are available to the user with the exception of the functions: "Add authenticity information", "Show protocol file" and "Delete protocol file". The purchaser should test the RAR Software during this test phase to determine if it meets his requirements and needs. In particular, the Customer must determine if the RAR Software runs under his operating system and in his desired hardware and software environment. He promises to acquire a Licence for the RAR Software only if and when he has assured himself that he can answer the above-mentioned questions with "yes".
