on a few occasions my computer hasn't shut down the normal way (start..shutdown etc) and it hasnt shutdown by pressing the off button either..iv'e had to unplug it. Does anyone know whats up with my computer...tia

Well have you seen the film Terminator? ;-)

Try starting it up in safe mode then closing down that way. If that works start it as normal then hopefully it should be ok again. Sounds like it's got itself in a twist.

It probably doesn't turn off with the power switch as you have to hold it in for about 10 seconds on some computers.

This s a situation where there is usually a programme still running there are third party software programmes designed o kill the processes
