I'm about to buy a 32' widescreen TV, but there are so many of them out there. Has anyone bought one that they are particularly happy with? I like the look of Panasonic, but again, there are so many models. Many, but not all by any means get good reviews on some of the comparison websites. However, not all models are covered. Even if you've bought a TV you want to be rude about, that would help to, as it's an expensive investment. Thanks all you square eyed folk. bizzylizzy

How much are you going to spend? Do you have a surround system to hook it up to? Does it need an inbuilt digital decoder? Flatscreen? What other features do you think are must haves? I would recommend sorting out a price and a wishlist then using that to narrow down the models available to you....or you could splash the cash..say around 1500....and get a 42" plasma screen.

Yikes. Fair point. Yes we do want a flat screen, it must be 100hz. We can augment later with the surround system. We just want a good quality picture to start with. We may even try ebay, as some people seem to upgrade their TVs regularly. I shan't even mention plasma screen to my husband as he'd kill for one. We (I) just want a decent picture for a half decent price, until we can really afford to splash out. Thanks. bizzylizzy
Panasonic 32" 100hz (current model) is as good as you can get. About 400 around here.

Hi Maude I'd love to know where I could get a 32" Panasonic TV for 400. Tell me quick!!!! Also what current model, there seem to be so many models nowadays. bizzylizzy
In John Lewis Milton Keynes about 3 weeks ago. I don't know the number, but we should be going there next week and will make a note and post it for you. The offer included a free five year guarantee.

Fantastic. I'll try their website. It may have been a short period offer but I'll keep my fingers crossed. Thank you so much for getting back to me. bizzylizzy
I have a sony Widescreen and it is fantastic. I have had it for about 6 months now and have added the sony home cinema system to it. The 100 Htz models are worth the extra as the picture quality is superb. One note of caution however I purcased the 36" model and it dominates the room a 32" would have been a better option. I suppose it depends on the size of your room. Sony wont be the cheapest but they are top quality. Mine came form Comet.com

Thanks for that. We haven't bought ours yet as we're waiting to move house and thought we might as well get the TV at the same time. Interesting what you say about TVs dominating the room. I think you're right, unless you have a house with very, very large rooms or a separate TV room a 32" set is fine. Thanks for taking the time to answer. bizzylizzy
