I bought my son an new fangled I-pod player that allows him to watch films/videos on his gadget. However does anyone know of an internet site where he can access these films etc so he can download onto his i-pod? If someone could point us in the right direction it would be much appreciated.

thanks

To play videos on the iPod, in most cases you will need to convert them from a standard video file format (mpg, avi, mov, wmv, etc) to the iPod video format. This can be done with iTunes or other commercially available converters. It's a long process (hours).

With the right software you can convert any DVD's you own to iPod format.

You can get video podcasts using iTunes that will automatically sync to the iPod when a new one becomes available. Do a search for "video podcast" in Google.

You can also download films or tv shows illegally using torrent sites such as http://www.btjunkie.com. You will need torrent client software, BitComet works for my friend. you will most likely have to convert them into iPod video format yourself. As you are getting the content for free there is no guarantee of the quality.

I converted some of my dvd movies to ipod using Nero Re Code which comes with Nero Package. Its great and does the job perfectly. In recode you select the option that lets you convert to Mp4
Also you can download them to. Not sure whats the site name but think there is a torrant website specifically for ipod videos. If I find it will post it in here
The official way is to buy from the Apple iTunes store, but I wouldn't recommend you do that, for two reasons:

- I don't think you can even buy them in the UK yet, just the US
- They're protected, so can only be used on the iPod and nowhere else

Instead, I'd recommend you buy a DVD or whatever you want, and then copy it onto the iPod using a little program called Handbrake (it's free). You then just drag this file into iTunes, and when you connect the iPod it'll copy across.

This way you get to have a DVD too, so can use it on things other than the iPod.
