I assume that you are trying to get into the system BIOS.

When you switch-on, with most PC's the message at the foot of the screen tells you to press the DEL key, to access the BIOS. Have you tried the DEL key on its own ?
If I misinterpreted your question and you are in fact trying to get into Windows, then firstly, what is your operating system and secondly, do you have a boot CD disc ?

Thank you! pR, its seems to have cleared itself, I've had it switched off for a week, and when I went home and switched on, for some unknown reason, it had cleared. I did send this question on my father's PC. Thanks for your suggestions again.
