lost Internet connection

Hi I'm sorry to be vague but my machine keeps un-connecting itself from the Internet.
It does it at no specific time or when I'm on a specific website,
Just can't fathom it. It reconnects OK but it is a serious ball-ache when it goes off for no apparent reason.
Any help out there??
Please keep it simple as i am no computer buff, Thanks Chris

just unplug yor modem n let it reboot it self,if this doesnt work it may be a modem prob

Do you mean just literally pull out the connector and then push it back in? Sorry to be a pain but I'm a bit thick!
I'll do it Sunday as the back of the machine is a ****** to get at and I'll have to move a lot of furniture!!
