Dell Inspiron 6000 hard drive failure

The hard drive on my Dell Inspiron 6000 appears to have failed. Given that I've had the machine for only 12 and a half months (1 year warranty!) and have hardly used it, I was wondering if anybody has any idea what might have gone wrong? If I replace the hard drive, I don't want the same thing to happen again.

Suggest you contact your supplyer and tell them of your problem. The 1 year warranty is what the manufacturer gives you. Their legal obligations may be quite different. One could confidently expect 3 years of normal domestic service from a medium quality HDD.

Are you sure it is the Hard drive that is the problem? It is impossible to state what has gone wrong in this forum.
