I have a desktop, with a Prestigio P151 flat screen monitor, with integrated speakers. The sound is turned on and up, the drivers are ok (according to the system info on my pc), the sound card works (can use headphones), and the monitor seems to be correctly plugged in. Sound levels are turned up on the pc too, and have tried the default/nosounds switch in teh control panel. Any ideas why I can't get sound?

Go back to; start, control panel, sound and audio devices, check to see if the mute box is ticked, if so untick. click advanced, see if any mute boxes at the bottom of this window are ticked, untick them and see if that's it!

Thanks Dagman, but sorry, that's not it, all unticked
You're not leaving the headphones plugged in? or is there a well disguised button or something on the monitor? I know you've probably done all that, sorry. does the monitor have it's own configuration icon in control panel, maybe it has a setting you can adjust? I've googled the model and most sites are foreign but some wording suggests an on-screen volume? My ctx has buttons on if pressed a certain order give me vision and volume adjustment, although the internal speaker is tat i don't use it. good luck
I had a tft monitor which had speakers, but i had another lead going from my pc to the monitor with a 3.5 mill jack on each end. check to see if you need one
