Charging laptop?

My friend lives on a narrow boat and is looking at buying a laptop. He needs to be able to charge the laptop from the boats 12V supply.


What is the best way to power it? Our local Maplin shop has recommended a 240V invertor. Can you get a power supply that will work straight from the batteries?

The inverter is designed to work from the batteries. You connect it to the batteries and then plug in the computer charger to the socket end of the converter. This is the only way to do it and works well.
