I have had some film clips sent to me as MP4's via Winzip.

I am unsure of the previous file sending software, but when I clicked on the 'Insert Video' on the PP toolbar, it would allow me to insert the clips.

Now they are coming in via Winzip, I am unable to insert them.

Any idea what I'm doing wrong?

You must first unzip, then drag and drop into the slide.

Thank you - how do I 'unzip'?
You shouldn't need WinZip to unzip files because the facility to do so is built into Windows these days. However, as it seems that your PC is configured to use WinZip, here are the instructions:

I have been onto Winzip and dragged the files i want to unzip.

Winzip advises it will not unzip them because they are 'not supported'.

Any idea where i go from here please?
can you right click on the file does it give you and option like "extract all" something like that? if so click then it should extract to a normal folder. If not install 7zip and make that the default zipper and do the same again but this time it should have 7zip as an option when you right click.
basically they all have compatible algorithms so 7zip should work.

I'll try in the morning.

Thanks Tora, good night.
If the files already have the '.mp4' extension, rather than something like '.zip', then they're not zipped.

So I can't really understand what's going on here. (You wrote " . . . sent to me as MP4's via Winzip" but I can't see where WinZip comes into things if the files aren't zipped in the first place).
I assumed that Andy knew they were MP4s and that they were zipped.

Hi Chris - if they are not zipped, how do I get them into my PowerPoint?

It's fine guys, I was trying to put the clip into the sidebar of PP instead of the main area - so all sorted now.

Thanks for your kind assistance.
