I have some video on my laptop hard drive that I would like to view on my tv, without having to burn the video to disc first.is this possible to do this by just connecting some sort of cable between my laptop and tv.If so, what sort of cable do I need.

Your question is not as easy to answer as you might think. It depends on what type of outputs your PC provides. There's a starter guide here: http://www.numtv.com/asp/pctotv.html . If you haven't already got the right output, you might need to buy a PC to TV converter card. Either way, you'll definitely need to buy the right type of lead. So, take your laptop to a decent retailer where they actually understand computers and electronics. (That rules out PC World straight away!) Try Maplins - their staff usually know what they're talking about and they won't charge you an arm and a leg for your purchases.
