I would like to get one of the above, I would like it to be able to read and write BluRay DVDs. Are they much of a muchness? I found some on Ebay new for about sixty quid inc p&p.

My system: AMD Athlon II quadcore 3Ghz, 16GB RAM, Windows 7 64bit, AMD Radeon HD6700 series graphics card.

TIA

..forgot to say SATA connector.
I fitted an LG to my desktop acouple of years ago when I got into HD home video. I've had no problems with it and it will read and write all types of disc ie, CD, DVD, Bluray including dual-layer discs, so I can create a 50GB Bluray when necessary.
The model will almost certainly be extinct now, as it's a few years old. The best advice I can give you is to go to Ebuyer or Amazon, do a search and read the reviews.
I've just looked back at my order (almost exactly 3 years ago). As I suspected, it is now extinct but this is its replacement.

Found an LG "super multi blue" BD re-writer in CEX.
S/H but new condition for £48 :-)
It is now in and working well.
Sounds good - LG kit has always worked well for me.
