Nixon D80 Camera Problem

when i download my pictures onto pc ,i just plug in the memory card (sd) for every pic i get a copy which can only be viewed as a thumbnail not as full pic ,i think i maybe have wrong settings its annoying and time taking to delete copies i am novice with camera so any help would be well appreciated thks
