I've always preferred Firefox over IE. My personal preference favours a tool developed open source ahead of something put together behind closed doors. Although I will admit commending FF for any other reason is getting difficult.
Microsoft are updating all Windows 7 users to IE10 as part of the automatic updates .IE10 is the default for Windows 7 and 8 if you use Vista you will continue to use IE9 AND XP users IE8 . You will have to use IE10 as the default browser as IE9 is not the preferred browser.
