Is it just me ..but my computer keeps freezing whilst using Answerbank.
Tells me at bottom of window to "Recover web page",by clicking on box.
Which I duly do,only for it to happen again,a minute later.

IE8 is not as secure as IE9, that's why they brought out IE9.
Why not try Firefox? I'm using it without problems.
"waiting for Ed and his woggling stick to fix IE9"
I think you'll have a long wait. Ed must have known about it for months, this must be the umpteenth thread about it. Hence my deaf ears remark.

Had Mozilla many moons ago and hated it...just had a look at it and it appears to be combined Firefox .

Getting REALLY fed up with this site today...doing nothing but freeze, freeze and more freeze!!!!!!
kloofnek, despite my earlier post, mine's been 100% fine today.... sod's law, I guess.
Google Chrome, kloofnek.
I agree Tony, I resisted for ages but once I gave in I never looked back (as they say!)
Same here prudie, I was having nothing but trouble with IE 9 on this site.
you can download google Chrome and use it alongside IE9 -just use Chrome when you come on AB. I changed to Chrome and would never go back to IE -its so much quicker and with an AD blocker makes web pages load extra fast.
Thats exactly what I do, magsmay.
kloofnek......It's not a simple matter to revert back to IE 8. You'll possibly be unable to, because you are likely to be refused a download on the basis of a more up-to-date item already installed. Consequently, I think you would have to uninstall IE 9, before downloading IE8 and I cant see that that is possible without another Browser to do so. Far easier to download Chrome with the use of IE 9 or, purely my opinion, Firefox which is my favourite Browser and is less intrusive than Google into one's private info.

It all seems to depend on pot luck. I just clicked on Google Chrome and following a white screen it eventually kicked in after 28 seconds.

Thankfully Firefox is working fine.
PS....... Download both Chrome and Firefox....You can have as many Browsers as you like and make whichever you wish as your default one.
