Yep ... Christmas is almost here ... Kate has presented us with her Christmas present !!! and the links game is in total confusion as usual as the 'silly season' starts to have it's effect.

As always, I've not much idea what to do with this little bunch - maybe you have -

White Christmas
Winter Wonderland
The Christmas Song
Merry Little Christmas

well, everyone is more than welcome to try their hand and as usual, you have till midnight Sunday to lodge an entry and then I'll have the fun of trying to score it all on Monday.

Given that I understand the Daily Telegraph will not be published on Christmas Day, I think we'll call it quits for this year after Monday's results are published, however I'll be brave and start at the beginning of the New Year, so there'll be only one weekend to amuse yourselves and I figure you'll all be too busy to even miss it

So before you all head off on holidays, have a fabulous Christmas and I wish you all the best for the New Year ............ Steff

Thanks Seekeerz, I think I will give this a miss until next year!
Happy Christmas from a cold and very icy south west London.

I'm thinking along the same lines - stay warm and I'll see you in the New Year
Hi seekerz
For the last two years Kate has given some indication in her introduction to the crossword as to what sort of answer she's expecting. I'll probably wait until the paper arrives and then think about it for a bit. I expect I can while away the time watching the cricket...
There's not much fun to be had in linking songs with their composers, is there?

Wot a chiz!
Like london-lassy in even deeper south west London - that is north west Surrey
I was preparing to give it all a miss today but the paper has just (surprisingly)
arrived and Strix is correct we have to link the composers names to their christmas songs - so that is the target for the Herculis prize on Monday I assume but absolutely no point in our KM compettition as we should all (supposedly) have the same answers!

So thanks for all your efforts throughout the year Steff and I guess December's competition is now over
I hit the submit button accidently before I had quite finished -too cold and too early to control my keyboard!

Happy Christmas to all KM linkers and MM linkers and I look forward to a better
globally warmed 2011
J
The Christmas linking is never as straightforward as other weeks of the year, so perhaps you can give yourself an early Christmas present, Steff, and have an extended break. It'll be the same in the MM Links later which will see me set the final links for this month.
May I take this opportunity of especially wishing you all of the best for the coming festive season, and I look forward to meeting up again with everyone in the New Year. Merry Christmas !! Bah, Humbug !!!!
Question Author
well I can understand there could easily be clues for three of the composers, but Mel Torme ??
S,

re: Mel Tormé (3,5)

Only fun to be had here is that he co-wrote "The Christmas Song" with Bob Wells (3,5) !!

AND
A Merry Christmas to one and all and let's hope for some more sensible weather soon - snow AND fog here at the moment!
hiya seekz and all
Question Author
Very perspicasious [??] of you Strix - I've eaten Toooooo well at lunch today but that doesn't really help overly much !!
With frozen pipes to go with this very cold weather - but no snow yet- do I take it that this week's KM is off??
Anyway, John and I wish you all the very best for the coming festive season and like rockfordill we could do with some global warming up here in the NE.
happy Christmas everyone
grannydi
Maybe we should have a competition to guess what the clues will be!
Which singer/songwriter had the nickname "The Velvet Fog"? (3,5)
Good morning.Wishing you and all linkers a joyful Christmas and best wishes for the New Year. Regards to all,Lysander.
Many thanks Steff, Merry Christmas to you and all fellow linkers. Snowing heavily here and no paper as yet unless my better half can tear himself away from the criicket, put on his wellies and trudge off to the paper shop
Thinking of you tearinghair, any news yet?
I am totally confused this morning but that doesn't take a lot.
I would like to wish everyone a very Happy Christmas and a good New Year.
Kind regards Owllady
Season's Greetings to all - a BIG thank you to Steff, for all the organizing etc. And many thanks to all the ABers who have helped me and others throughout the year!
