Has the whole champagne shower thing always been a tradition in F1? if not when and why did it start?

With motorsport, it's something started by American driver Dan Gurney, who sprayed his champagne to celebrate his win in the Le Mans 24 hours in 1967 and this caught on thereafter.
Bloody waste of champagne in my opinion.

I don't know what your problem is dancairo but you are definately an olympic standard tw&t. Waste of a question? why? Are we limited to how many questions we can ask? Perhaps you can tell me why it is some how invalid. What a fcuking d1ckhead!
