I hope it will be Carlos. I really know little about Tennis but having seen how he applauded his defeated opponent as he left the court before receiving the accolades of his supporters was much to be admired. No snarls or raised fist salutes. For his sportsmanship and manners alone I want him to win. I understand he has aggression in the right place though. On the court when playing !!
That second set was electric, IMO anyway.
That 2nd set is exactly how i expected the game to go - tie-breaks all the way. Now it's game on - and my little bet looks a tad healthier than it did after the 1st set trouncing.

Wow this is some game:-)))
Certainly is! Alcaraz has the upper hand at the moment but never write Djokovic off.
Wow! What a game!
its turned into a great match
Some question whether Djoko still has the hunger and desire to carry on winning tournaments. Those who do so ought to watch that 5th game in the 3rd set.
Longest Men's final is 4hrs 57mins. Wonder if these two will break that record?
If i've ever seen a better tennis match than that one, i cannot recall doing so. At no point in the match was i ever confident that my bet would bear fruit. Nor was there any point in the match where i thought the bookies had taken a fiver off me.
Alcaraz is a worthy champ and there is no doubt he will be winning titles for a while, yet.
As for the Djokoman. Well, he has nothing to prove to anyone though i very much doubt he will be hanging up his rackets anytime soon - those that are still intact, that is:-)

Pity you didn't have a punt, ZM. I got 4s for Djoko in 5 sets - Alcy would have been a bigger price.

Well, what an afternoon. Phew, I'm exhausted watching it.
Have to give you BA Zacs, just;-)
Very kind, LB! Thank you.
Viva Espana. Just as I hoped. Couldn't help but think how a long pee and a poo can change a players game around. Why did the Serb feel the need to take his bag with him to the loo. I know they supply soap, toilet paper and towels in the loos . He seemed to be tiring before his toilet break and came out quite refreshed afterwards.
Well done, Carlos! Such maturity in his game, belied his age. He kept a cool head, stayed on court for the match duration, didn't gather any code violation, and took all of his racquets home again ;) He joins his fellow countrymen who have won Wimbledon - Manuel Santana and Rafael Nadal, both of whom I wanted to win. How great he did so in front of his own King. Moreover, he made sure Roger Federer has kept his 8-time record all to himself ;) I am so delighted for him and look forward to following his future games at Wimbledon, the home of tennis!
^^^ Not the first time I've noticed that in a game and he has gone on to win! Not today though - well done Alcaraz.
This is Wimbledon! Surely you meant 'Gentlemen's Final'
I was rather hoping the Princess of Wales, patron of the AELTC, would of stepped aside on this occasion and invited King Phillipe of Spain to present the trophy to a worthy winner. That really would be the cherry on the cake for this young man. I suppose being a Wimbledon Champion at such a young age is enough excitement for one day. Felicidades Carlos.
I've heard that he prefers Felipe.
