The Syrian football league was still operational while cities and towns were being bombed, too, Ich. A little bit of normality amid the everyday chaos of war.

I'm convinced they were determined to keep the league going in order to have Ukrainian teams qualifying for Europre, thereby further rubbing Russian noses in it :-)
