Oh come on JJ, no matter how much you dislike Mrs Clinton, the world would be a safer place with her than with that mad man.

Doesn't have to, but saying that he would welcome Bernie Sanders voters, "with open arms", makes for a good soundbyte.

What's he going to say otherwise ? That they should all clear off to the Clinton camp as he doesn't want the likes of them voting for him in order to stop Clinton ?
Question Author
Thats the central problem with Trump....he is a walking, talking soundbyte !

To my mind, this latest daft utterance just makes him look even more dumb, if that is possible.
Not as daft as it sounds. If the only choice I had were Corbyn and Blair, then Corbyn wins every time.

But why would Democrat supporters vote for a Republican candidate ?

To use your analogy Jack, I certainly wouldn't vote Tory, not matter how much I didn't like the Labour Leader.
Can you not remember Democrats for Reagan? Helped him towards his landslide.
What's your point? They do it here all the time, that's the name of the game. Your supporters will vote for you anyway, so try and grab some that wont.

This seems to me desperation on the part of Trump....maybe he realises that his own supporters may not be enough to win the day ?
Hilary C has spent her career covering up her real views, deceiving the electorate, and making threats against the numerous women whom her husband sexually abused in his career (so much for women's rights, Hilary!)

There is a big faction whose preference is ABC ... Anyone But Clinton !

Including me.

I would have chosen Bernie S.

But now, it has to be Trump.

Anyone ... But ... Clinton !!!
no mikey, don't talk rot, it's no different to when Millipede asked Tories to lend him their vote. Standard Politics, you have to convert some of the opposition and capture the floaters. Your Idol Bliar ably demonstrated that in 1997. No point in wasting time on those who will vote for you anyway. That's why I only see my MP socially.
Question Author
JJ....Bernie S is dramatically opposite in his views to Trump.

I simply don't understand how you could be a Bernie supporter, and then switch allegiance to Trump !

You are, of course, entitled to your views !
Oh come on JJ, no matter how much you dislike Mrs Clinton, the world would be a safer place with her than with that mad man.
Shame that their only choice is between a 73 year old man and a 70 year old woman.
I don't understand how you can vote Tory, then switch to Labour but many did in 1997. Many voters are not as clear as us. Many are swayed by things that are very important to them that you and I would not see as vital. That's politics.
Question Author
TTT...I accept what you say, but Trump and Sanders are so diametrically opposed to each other, that I still find it difficult to see how a Sanders supporter could switch over at this late stage.
I don't know. Does he? As I understand it the system in the US is very different to ours. The President does not necessarily have to be a member of the ruling party.
Hilary C is an awful women. She's a disgrace to women.

The way she has threatened and hushed up women who have looked like exposing her abusive, philandering husband has been an insult to equality.

Her rants against gay rights, which she now tries to cover up, are appalling.

If something goes badly, like the Gulf campaign, she positions herself as a big opponent, even though she supported it.

She deleted all those emails to cover up the truth. She has illegally spied on British and European diplomats.

I wouldn't trust her to do my dry cleaning, let anyone run the western alliance.
There's a good argument (and online school of thought) that she should be in prison, not in the White House.
I'm surprised she has ranted against gay rights, considering the rumours of her sexuality.
Wow! Respect, JJ!
Mind you, your description of her sounds pretty normal for a politician.

I would still take her any day, rather than that man.
