At the moment, England are 4th in our Pool.

As they (possibly) invented the game, the various groups of native Americans are allowed to enter their own team, in addition to the US team. I'm not sure exactly how it works, but that's the basic deal. They are called Haudenosaunee. And they are pretty good. They've won three of their games, and lost one ... to Japan, who are shaping up as the dark horses of the tournament, having won all four of their games.

Haudenosaunee have beaten Sweden 28-1, and Germany 16-9.

ha ha ... groan!
JJ - what is Englands record - who have we played and more importantly who have we battered. Secondly, and flippantly, have St Trinians entered a team.
Water lacrosse is a niche game, played by Canadians who can swim; no chance of their success, because most can't and they only see ice, and think lakes are dangerous oceans. Native tribes fall through the ice when fishing, so they excel in the pool.

Anyway, we invented lots of sports, from table tennis to soccer, and we are rubbish at all of them, so lacrosse is a natural for natives requires more explanation.

We've played three games so far ...

Lost 17-7 against the US

Lost 11-6 against Canada

Won 9-4 against Wales
Is it televised?
Question Author
But we are, of course, the jolliest team.

I think there's a special prize for that.
Question Author
No, WD ... the coverage is totally pants. You have to trawl the web late at night.
Question Author
Did we invent table tennis, Fred?

Is that because we have holiday camps?
Question Author
Actually, I suspect there are lots of odd men trawling the Web late at night, lol
JJ - read my mind on that one - I just thank goodness I don't have internet at home lol
oh, do they have jolly lacrosse sticks as well as jolly hockey sticks? How nice. You could have little thingies on the sticks that make fart noises when you swish them and reduce the opposition to helpless laughter. I don't know if the Apache did this or not.
Question Author
jno ... you never know who is out there ... especially mid afternoon onwards when redneck America is online!!
Question Author
jno ... that would just be silly.

Looking at the team photo on englishlacross uk they look like they are going rockpool fishing.

We true afficionados only watch for the short skirts JJ. It's how we judge form. That applies to netball and lacrosse. How do England match up?
