hi there dtcrossword this is reasonably serious as i wanted to say thank you for pointing me in the right direction to get some of my favourite gin for chrissie. needless to say i got more than gin when i had a look round experience. have never walked past then when they've been open. will make a special trip in future. again many thanks. l-j.
p.s. hope you and yours have a good christmas. x
Glad you enjoyed it, the gin and the shop that is, Lady J....I sent two bottles of the said juniper juices to relatives and have a small stock of vinos from them ready for tomorrow. One of the recipients, an aged Aunt who loves her gin, is thrilled.
Have a great day down there on the Lizard.......Happy Christmas
many thanks.
very sdaly whilst in T witnessed the funeral for the soldier from mevagissey. so very sad. only saw the cerremony outside the catherdral and then later everyone leaving. did feel for them. have 1 grandson in marines and one in paras. no joke.
went back to T in the evening to go to the nine lessons and carols at the cathedral. regards.
Gosh it was mayhem in Truro that morning with the streets being closed off for that service.....I was near the bus station and then M&S, (a zoo to itself) but had parked behind Mallets and near the Lemon St Gallery, one of my haunts for coffee.
What a lot of folk don't know is that Truro Cathedral (under Bishop Benson who became Archbish of C) was the first to develop the Nine Carols and Lessons format back in 1880. Hope you enjoyed it.
yes i did. it was more light-hearted this year. was very solemn and serious and in the last couple of years a bit drear. i know it's a serious service but it is also meant to be joyous and that seemed to be lacking before.
bishop bill could be great to talk to but took services very ........
definitely will not make it to midnight mass this year too far to walk and there is no way i can drive. naughty me.
just some stuffing, roasting then crisping and resting it, sauce based on madeira and the cooking juices (most of fat out), salmon mousse to begin with, cheeses etc
