It's absolutely disgusting we 'shell' out £millions to foreign countries, while our own protesters are shivering in cold wet tents, and lying on hard frozen ground.

All they need are sleeping bags, blow-up beds, a thermoelectric generator, a legal dictionary, and a £85 bag of wild flower seeds, (not said if these have to be poppy seeds though).

Surely these things are not too much to ask for, especially during the 'season of good will'?

While the real villains of the story are planning how to spend their obscene bonuses while wallowing in their central heated offices in the City, just a few yards away.
The world's ill divided.
We've had Save the Children, now how about Save the St Pauls Protestors day ? Not.
wow, a whole page about a £1,500 amazon wishlist.

quiet day at the newsdesk ?
suppose that you are advocating sending them a taste of the long blue arm of the law on Xmas Day, AOG, replete with batons and tear gas. And don't forget the tasers as well.
On the twelfth day of Christmas,
my true love sent to me
Twelve police a'policing,
Eleven judges judging,
Ten MPs pontificating,
Nine Bishops praying,
Eight Press a-stirring,
Seven Bankers (w)anking,
Six cleanies a-cleaning,
Five golden cheques,
Four calling girls,
Three BNPs,
Two Left Wing doves,
And an AOG in AB!
There are still people in the world who are living in shanties after earthquakes and famines. Unlike the protesters, they don`t have any choice on the matter. I would sincerely hope that if the public have any spare cash they will have the good sense to send it to those that are really in need.
so we should send more money abroad to those places then ?

perhaps that is what aog was advocating. i say jolly-ho to that old boy.
Well, if I had £10 to spare and I had a choice of giving it to someone who had lost half their family in a disaster, was at risk of typhoid or some other nasty, was at the mercy of the elements with a harsh winter approaching, or I could give it to someone in the UK who has a heated house that they have chosen not to live in, I know where my money would be going.
but you don't get typhoid cures on an amazon wishlist.
maybe they were just working with the options available.

if you have a spare £10 then i'm sure there are a few chaps living in lovely heated homes in Downing St who will expect to have first dibs at it.
They probably would Zeuhl, but the article is about charitable giving by the public, not money that is going via the government.
Who said anything about <via>

Georga and Dave are still working out ways they can get away with grabbing and keeping our money
and I wonder why they are having to grab your note, I wonder who was to blame for selling off our gold cheaply.....and all the rest.
Is that an acceptance that my comments about the government grabbing our last £10 are true?
Bah, humbug! Not me!
Zeuhl, as you say, Dave and George are still working out ways etc., the operative word being "Working", more than can be said about this shower - I would not give them the time of day let alone monies.
-- answer removed --
Zeuhl, no, it was an acceptance that I was eating a bowl of chilli. I`m talking from a purely humanitarian point of view. Nothing to do with the government and "the cause". I`m simply saying that if I, as a member of the public, had £10 to spend on providing someone with home comforts, I would choose to give it to someone who is most in need.
237 - quite right I agree.

My earlier question was directed at DT sorry
I Live in Bristol and there are lots of bars, clubs and pubs in the area so they may get some unwelcome attention at night when the drunks come out.

Dave.
