has anyone got a claim to fame or an anecdote, where they met or were involved with someone famous or infamous, and would like to do a bit of name dropping?

my bits were going to a party, invited by IAN DURY, where i sat up in the dragonara hotel in leeds talking to a jazz trumpet player in the band called DON CHERRY, turns out years later to be NINEH CHERRY, and EAGLE EYE CHERRY'S father. I have done personal security for some politicians from Zimbabwe, and i did see MUGABE, but i am not too proud of that.

When I was a kid Darth Vader (David Prowse) visited a toy shop in my town, he shook my hand and asked me what my name was. When I was a bit older I was lucky enough to visit the Universal Studios in Hollywood, where I sat in K.I.T.T (the car from Knight Rider) who talked to me (obviously just some bloke with a microphone in a nearby shed or something), but when I got home I was the envy of all my friends, as you could imagine.

I once met Prince Charles. I was about 16, on a school trip. He went to shake my hand, and I stuck out the wrong hand! Got all flustered trying to give him the right one!! Then told him to say hi to Wills for me!! He just kinda looked at me like i was a bit strange!!

Cliff Richard once stopped in a car to let me turn right, don't know if he was driving though, I was so surprised!  Another time, I was looking in a shoe shop and Brian May was standing next to me, also looking at the shoes.
Paul Ross (as in Jonathans bro) is friend of my aunties and once came round to our house for a cuppa, drank out of my mug too ! pretty lame i know.
I sat next to Jackie Chan in the sushi bar at the Hong Kong golf club about 2 years ago

For my 25 years employment, my boss took me to Langan's Coq d'Or Restaurant in old Brompton Road, London. Who should be sitting at the next table was goold old Michael Cane (donned in baseball cap & trainers), his wife & friends.

It wasn't very surprising though as he owned the restaurant!

*good

Sorry for the extra post!

I met Paul Whitehouse in a cafe where I used to work, Rory Bremner in town, sat next to John Virgo at Wembley when I went to see England play Portugal a few years ago.  Ant and Dec often visit my local pub and the dog track (the on that was on their show on Saturday night just gone - I missed it!) that is about 100 yrds from my front door.  Vinne Jones also has a table there.  When I was five I met Superted and Spotty at Tesco, and then about 2 years later I met Leonardo and Michaelangelo from the Turtles there too.
I acted on stage with the the late Derek Nimmo.

I sat 2 rows behind Take That's Jason Orange on a flight to Singapore...in economy!

I met Frank Skinner at a Baptism - we are both godparents to the same child.
Once met the policeman from allo allo - can't remember his name though.
should add it was before he became quite as famous as he is now!

Who - the policeman?  Boom boom.........

I'll get my coat.

Ooooooh!

Best one yet, I met the a few of the cast of Hidey-Hi at butlins in 1988.

My brother met Alessandro Nanini (a one armed Formula One driver).  Well he has one arm now, he had two when he was driving.  Terry Waite visited my school as he was friends with my Religious Studies teacher - he is huuuuugge!  The England Rugby captain also visited my school, can't remember his name tho (am a complete girl and don't watch rugby) - is it something to do with Martin?  He was really big too.

And for my last trick......

My brother is the biggest Arsenal fan in the world (it's not my fauilt) and Martin Keown lives pretty close to us.  Anyway 7 years ago me my mum and dad were in Toy R Us getting my little bro's pressies and I'd bought him an Arsenal Annual.  My dad tells me that this bloke in the suit is Martin Keown and sends me over to ask for his signature in the front of the book, which he very politely did.  We then looked round to find my mum asking him whereabouts were the action figures - she thought he worked there!  Oh the shame......
I worked in the competitors lounge at the Championships of Wimbledon a few years backr and met all the players but the best was when Cliff Richard came in I went to introduce myself & told him that my mum was a huge fan! The next day he was having lunch with one of the Coaches and said that I brightened up his day! Have seen loads of famous people (working in Central London) but does that count?? When I was 5 Postman Pat and the cast from Rainbow came to my school but I was scared of them & cried!
The cast from Rainbow would scare me - and I'm a lot more than 5.

In the early 70's I used to go to Terry-Thomas' cliff top folly for lunch and a swim, have several photos of me with David "Kid" Jensen when he joined our group in Ibiza, my husband is working for John Hurt at the moment, my mother and I used to look after Denhiolm Elliott's children and I thought  he was gorgeous when I first met him and he was wearing pink knitted trousers. Queen drummer Roger Taylor brought my friend's house and I was asked if I would look after his children but I couldn't. I'm sure there are many more incidents but cannot remember at the moment.Lots of 'em stay on the island.
I once sat at the next table to smudge at my restaurant in Brompton Road.
