The French are all but through to the knockout stage of the World Cup but the way the French are playing they will be easy meat for whoever they play then.

And England, if (or should that be when) they win their group, will be those opponents.

A clear run for England to get to the semi-finals?

(that's évier as in down the plughole)
In 1999 France stumbled through their group, narrowly defeating Fiji, before causing undoubtedly the greatest upset in World Cup history by trouncing New Zealand. They may be a mess but they have more creativlity in their "petits doigts" than England possess in their entire frames. I would certainly not fancy them, but neither would I be surprised if they came through to the final.
