oo well done !
Good old Big Dave. I'm pleased for him. I just hope they go on and seal promotion. They deserve it after the season they had.
Well done them yes.
One of the most exciting games i've ever watched. Sheff Wed finished a whole 19 points ahead of Posh in the league, and it definitely showed last night. Neither Barnsley or Bolton (who face each other tonight) will relish facing them at Wembley.

Wednesday had already made history as no team had ever garnered 96 points and NOT been automatically promoted.

As an aside, i put a small bet on prior to a ball being kicked in the play-offs, that Luton, Sheff Wed and Stockport would be the 3 teams promoted - possibly making me £150 (currently offered £15 to cash out).. After the 4-0 loss to Peterbrough, i obviously believed that the 'treble' component of the bet had bombed. Now the bet is 'live' again:-)
It was penalties. That’s not proper football, is it.

Ok zacs what other way should the game be decided after extra time?
Personally imho if a team manages to get 96points they should go up automatically!
It's similar to the Notts county situation!
The proper football came before it Zacs. Overturning a 4-0 deficit, then equalising to go 5-5 in extra-time. What more would you like to see?
And what if the team in 4th gets 96 points also, Piggy, only to lose out on GD.
I think the play-offs are a good thing but i would tweak the rules to read that if a team finishes a substantial points margin ahead of the rest, they ought to be automatically qualified to the play-off final.

In the case of Notts County, i would also amend the rules to read that the 2nd placed team in the NL would face the 2nd bottom side in League 2 in a one leg final. Winner takes all.
‘ Personally imho if a team manages to get 96points they should go up automatically! ’

Much better.

‘The proper football came before it Zacs. Overturning a 4-0 deficit, then equalising to go 5-5 in extra-time’

Exactly, so why ruin it with stupid penalties.
Again, Zacs, how else would you rather it be decided?
Use the away goals rule?
// I just hope they go on and seal promotion. They deserve it after the season they had.//

No they don't deserve it at all, fingers crossed for the match tonight, I promise not to look at the score until I get the nod from my family! The other week I looked at the score of the women's RU match v France and England were 33-0 up..........
If you're a Barnsley fan, Zebo, Wednesday finished 10 points ahead of you; 15 if you're a Bolton fan. Of course they deserve it. I'd wager that had your team ended up with 96 points and finished in 3rd spot, you'd be asking for the abolition of the play-offs:-)
