Royal Ascot accounts for all races in today's ITV7. There are some quite large fields - unfortunately for me only a couple are handicaps:-(

We both winkled that one out Ken. I got home just in time to drop a couple of quid on the win and to cover the last 3, after my first was placed, ... just in case.
Lot of money on it, togo.
Must be nice to be in the know. ;-)
I'm sweating on 8th place.
Yay.
In the Know? Haha. In something else entirely, more like. (^_*)
I noticed that you referenced the weather earlier Spike. Do you not like the warm days? If not you will not like Friday.
Ha, just posted about the heat on Friday;-))
Alright sat outside the pub, togo.
Otherwise, no.
Silencer was 7th@ 100/1 (paying first 6) sob
Afternoon Lady. Have you had a winner? (^_*)

Rounded my total stake up to £40 by putting £3 straight forecast on short-priced fav to beat the rank outsider in the first race at Hamilton. It did so by about 6 lengths :-) and f/c paid me £37.71. Add to that the fiver on the 10/1 shot, plus the 20p win single from the L15 and my 'winnings' total £96.91. Which, fo me at Ascot, is a minor miracle:-)

Read that Nahanni's run in the Derby was too bad to be true and i'm always ready to excuse a horse the one bad run. It won't have any of my dosh on it again though. Never looked interested - England put in a better performance last night!!

Spice, i can never understand those who sit outside in the sun with a pint. If you were served a warm pint, you'd be contacting the ECHR :-))
On handy with a b.o.g. punt. Off out for a walk, before the pavement is burning my paws[In case Lady looks in :))]. Stradivarious is going for the 4 timer again, but although my heart wants him to prevail my head tells me that age is blunting that massive staying capacity that he once had. I have done one with good E/W credentials that I think connections have been bringing on gently over the last couple of seasons with a long career in mind. I think The Queen may get her winner today and the odds on runner should be the one, but either of the other two could go in as well. Done the ITV7 and leaving the odds on out it done little e/w 6,5, &4 timers. Also done**** E/W Acca and Trebles, Win Doubles. ⁕⁕E/W double and singles. I will be back mid afternoon and ready to cover the bets if it has gone pear shaped. Good Luck and be cool.

Pillow Talk @15/2 2.30*
Israr @7/1 3.05*
Mukaddamah @15/2 3.40*
Tashkhan @25/1 4.20 ⁕
Tranquil Night @9/1 5.00*
Reach For The Moon 5.35
Tanmawwy @11/1 6.10 ⁕

Best of luck, Togo. It really is a minefield today - very few strong stats on most of the races. Gut instinct will have to be bang on:-/ As regards the great Stradivarius, my feeling is that at least he is proven over the distance and absolutely loves this track.

2.30 Asc; The Antarctic @ 4/1
3.40 Asc; Magical Moon @ 9/4
4.20 Asc; Stradivarius @ 11/4 (BB)

£1 Treble, £1 Treble for a poss £169.

3.05 Asc; Israr @ 7/1 - 7 places
4.40 Rip; Highjacked @ 9/2 - 4 places
5.00 Asc; King Of Time @ 11/2
6.10 Asc; Silent Film @ 12/1 - 7 places (Rev f/c with Vafortino)

Win singles, 20p L15, £1 e.w. acca. 4 placed = £31, 4 winners = £4,263.

ITV7; above qualifiers plus Reach For The Moon - which i have taken out of the £1 e.w. acca.

Also a couple of e.w. punts on; Achnamara @ 28/1 (7 places) 3.05 & Bolthole @ 22/1 5.00.

And, of course, the placepot. Best of luck, all.

Can't believe my fav jockey/trainer combo won that first race with a 50/1 shot:-(
Also can't believe that i hadn't heard they have recently parted company (trainer's decision) and that Paul Hanagan is now a freelance:-(
Thanks for explanation re handicaps Ken.
My ascot 2 lost on Tuesday but I did get my money back from Violetta at 66/1 at Thirsk. I won £7 for my 50p e/w.
Question Author
Well in, Carrot:-) Done any today?

My answer re handicaps doesn't particularly apply to those handicaps restricted to 3yo's - as in the stampede at 5.00 pm:-(
I haven't done any yet but I may do now I've been reminded about Ascot.
Good luck everyone.
I've done 50p e/w
4.20 Ascot EarloftheCotswolds 50/1 and
5.20 Lingfield Nibras Rainbow 22/1
Strad was unlucky/badly ridden.(imo)
Oneforthegutter e/w next race.
Question Author
Tactics, i think more than badly ridden, Spice. Strad couldn't get out when Frankie asked him (first Kyprios then Princess Zoe), turning for home, and he gave the winner almost a 3l unassailable advantage. On another day..................?
Should have stayed in, waited for the gap.
That's what I'd have done if I could ride a horse and shift 16st to make the weight.
