Thanks Barsel. can I point out too that this is a result of last year's petition and the 4th debate which I believe is a record. There is another petition here. Please do sign and share if you haven't already. https://petition.parliament.uk/petitions/319891?fbclid=IwAR16kF2g0wFg70khr9vpqH7DSc7HeqxNCaNDTecUDP_9Z70KMw4pWYnU_ZA
Ban them, last 2 weeks we've had clowns setting them off, even at about 1 and 2 am, really loud. Terrifying for some folks and pets, and of course causing sleep deprivation. Idiots.
Dagman, have you signed this year's petition and shared it?
Question Author
woofgang Filled it in but then got an email to say I've already signed it.
well thanks for signing :)
Just tried to sign it woofy but it seems I already have. Did you post it on here before?
yes. I post it every time there is a comment to catch anyone who hasn't signed yet :)
Right. Unfortunately I will have forgotten that by the next time you post it;-)
Yes I have Woofgang, didn't know there was such a petition. Also it links t local MP to tell them you've signed it!
I just love fireworks. Sadly we'll see and hear far fewer of them this year as most/all public displays won't happen.
thank you Dagman
lol LB!
indeed diddley. its going to be a worse year for those of us who have a problem with fireworks for whatever reason. Organised displays run to a timed publicised schedule and aren't in next door's garden. They also happen on or close to the 5th. Private fireworks can happen at any time or day and are much less easy to cope with.
I'd be really happy if all my neighbours had fireworks in their gardens at any time of year.
Question Author
diddlydo does it not bother you about the effect it has on animals, babies, young children, older people, etc?
‘Really happy’, diddly?

I like a professional firework display, but don’t like random ones going off through the night frightening my cat.
I really hate fireworks they are too loud for me and they get worse every year.
Barsel - I'm an "older person" and I love them. I don't recall my children ever being frightened by fireworks either. Cats? Who cares when they're just a menace and c*** in my garden.
^childish and selfish @21.43
Just heard first one go of near us.
