Last Monday there was a women's fencing match and, with just 1 second left on the clock, the South Korean was leading the German; so all she had to do was remain untouched for just 1 second and she would have progressed to the gold medal match. Unfortunately the clock didn't restart when the referee signalled for it to do so and in the time that resulted (more than 1 second) the German got a hit and won the match.

It turns out that the timekeeper for this match was a 15 year old volunteer - how could such shoddy organisation of an Olympic event have happened? Who was to blame?

hadn't heard, BUT hope there will be an enquiry and redistribution of the medals if needed!
maybe the same voluteer who sent the irish fencing team home for having too much barbed wire with them

no redistribution - the South Korean was offered a framed picture of herself signed by all the participants (apparently she didn't feel like accepting it)
