Kenny Huang is amongst those who has made an offer to buy Liverpool FC. Listening to Radio 5 last evening, he seems to be a very respectable businessman (though the same was probably said of the Americans a few years ago), and he wants to write off the debt as well as build the new ground. And, apparently, there could be "unlimited" money available because he has direct connections with the Chinese government.

But the deal has to done within 2 weeks otherwise he will walk away, partly because he wants to give Hodgson some time (and money for transfers?) before the start of the season. It was said that RBS, who are owed all the money, will effectively act as a 6th member of the board, meaning that the Americans could be outvoted 4-2.

It has to happen doesn't it?

The problem with Liverpool is not the owners but the managers and the players they have signed over the last ten years or so, they have lost their identity

Roy Hodgson will do well there whereas Man City will win fook all this season and will finish below Liverpool
I think it's about time a new "World league" was formed so all the clubs who have Billionaire owners can go away and fight it out amongst themselves.
Only problem is I can see a time, like in the NFL,the clubs become franchises and move about...Man City to Abu Dhabi,Liverpool to Shanghai,Arsenal to Paris,Man Utd to Surrey...etc
My humble club West Brom are about to have another crack at the greed league and have so far spent £700,000 in the transfer market,we are doomed to relegation and I'll take it on the chin, again, but at least we are run correctly and remain British.
:-)
Jeremy Peace would grab the foreign cash and run, given half a chance, Mighty.
Its a pity...baggies are a nice club with some great fans...friends are season ticket holders and it seems a good club to support...
Cheers Rowan ,it's always interesting :-)
With all due respect Hopkirk I couldn't see any multi billionaire wanting to buy West Brom !
Mr Peace is happy with the millions he has made from the Baggies,he never spends it,he'll get another load in parachute money to play with as well.
I have a friend who is an avid baggies fan...I've been trying to get her to join up...
You could ahve said similar things about Villa and Blues, Mighty, but they went.
Most fans prefer having clubs like West Brom in the league to remind them how clubs should be run
and because deep down we all love plucky underdogs
