Our Captain and (IMHO) our best defender is crocked.Tottenhams Michael Dawson steps in as his positional replacement while Steven Gerrard is now captain. Just how much will we miss Ferdinand?

Better he broke down now, than during the tournament (as was always a possibility)when we couldn't send for a replacement. He'll be missed, but we have decent enough cover. I would be more concerned if the injury was to Rooney, Gerrard or Ashley Cole.
